Douglas Wayne Kixmiller, affectionately known as Doug, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023. He was a devoted son, brother, father, uncle, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Doug was the epitome of a family man and a loyal friend. He possessed a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generosity knew no bounds, and he would give anyone the shirt off his back if it meant making their day a little brighter.

With his fun-loving nature, Doug brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He had a mischievous twinkle in his eye and a knack for inventing games that brought people together. As a talented poker dealer, he knew how to keep the good times rolling. Doug’s creativity shone through in everything he did, from inventing games like Roomba Pool to concocting delicious dishes like onion pie and astronaut pie. His creative genius extended to his Halloween costumes, with memorable ensembles such as a Rubik’s Cube and a whoopee cushion, delighting friends and family alike.

Doug had a zest for life and loved nothing more than enjoying time and activities with his family & friends from family vacations to stock-car races, going to concerts and disc golfing were some of his favorite hobbies. A hard worker by nature, he was incredibly handy with carpentry projects and could always be counted on to lend his expertise whenever someone needed help around their home.

Above all, family was the cornerstone of Doug’s life. Doug’s biggest pride was his family he created here in Tahoe with Stacy. His heart was happiest being with his son Jack and daughter Lexi. As long as he was with them, nothing else mattered. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and was fiercely protective of those he held dear. His
unwavering love and devotion will forever be remembered by his children, siblings, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives he touched in profound ways.

Though Doug may have left this world, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Friday, May 10 1:30 -4:30 at Zephyr Cove Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Boy Scouts of America.
