A memorial service for Victor C. Lackey, 76, a Carson City resident for the past two years, will be at 3 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Lackey died July 29, 2001, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born April 16, 1925, in Waltham, Mass., to George A. and Jennie Bain Lackey.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in North Highlands, Calif.
Mr. Lackey was an instrument mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army for three years.
Among his survivors are his wife Edna of Carson City; son Erni of Little Rock, Ark., and Delmar Lee of Sacramento; daughters Penny of Modesto, Calif., Ruby Gilbert of Salt Lake City and Virginia Ann Murph, of Carson City; sister Inez of Sacramento; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
