A homeless woman was arrested Sunday night after deputies found her and her 11- and 13-year-old daughters trespassing in a home on Kit Sierra Loop.
Deputies responding to a call of a burglary found 38-year-old Kathleen Pineda inside the home with her two daughters.
According to police reports, Pineda said her sister had dropped her off at the home and was going to call the owner and let him know they were staying there.
Deputies said the interior of the home was littered with garbage, clothing, computer equipment and feces.
"The house was extremely full of the above items, making it impossible to even walk around," the report stated.
The report states Pineda said she "just wanted a roof over her children's heads," as they had slept outside the night before because they had no place to live. Deputies reported the children "appeared as if they had not bathed in a couple of days."
Pineda was arrested on suspicion of gross misdemeanor child neglect and misdemeanor trespassing. The children were turned over to Child Protective Services.
Her bail was set at $2,710
