The Carson Country Cup 5K/10K run and 2-mile walk will be held Saturday, Aug. 18.
The event will benefit the Carson City Christian Running Club youth racing team. Race day registration will be held from 8 to 8:45 a.m. and all races will begin at 9 a.m. at Western Nevada Community College. The course will be the old Virginia-Truckee Railroad Line.
There will be men's, women's and youth divisions in the 5K run for ages 7 to 60 and over, in the 10K run for ages 19 to 60 and over and in the 2-mile walk for ages 5 to 70 and over.
Awards will be presented to first, second and third place in each division in the 5K and 10K runs and to the first through third place overall finishers in the men's and women's 2-mile walk.
Entry fee is $20 if received by Aug. 14 or $22 on race day. There will also be a post-race drawing for prizes. For more information, call 883-8477.
