Tara Theilemann of the Carson Tigersharks is having an outstanding meet so far this week at the Western Zone Swimming Championships in Hawaii.
Theilemann placed sixth in the 200-meter backstroke in the 15-16-year-old division. Theilemann qualified in the preliminaries with a time of two minutes, 28.55 seconds, which was more than three seconds faster than her seeded time of 2:31.84. Theilemann placed sixth in the finals in 2:29.77.
Theilemann also placed 19th in the 50 freestyle in 28.78, which was faster than her seeded time of 28.89.
