Obituary: Don Manuel Green

A memorial service for Don Manuel Green, 71, a former Carson City resident, is at 3 p.m. Sunday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of Valley.

Mr. Green died Aug. 21, 2001 in Seattle. He was born Aug. 7, 1930 in Sayre, Okla. to Manuel and Ruby Walkup Green. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Dennis Green in 2000.

He married Shirley Janet Hartless of Cactus, Texas in August 1951.

Mr. Green was a resident of Meridian, Idaho since 1998. He lived in Carson City from 1963 to 1998. He joined his brothers Bill and Cecil Green to form Bill Green Construction Company. He semi-retired in 1985 continuing to work part-time until 1990.

He was a contractor in the construction business. He was a member of the Builders Association of Nevada.

He was a Christian.

Mr. Green served two years in the U.S. Army from June 1952 to May 1954.

Among his survivors are his wife Shirley Green of Dumas, Texas; sons Douglas Green of Carson City, Cleve Alldredge and Ruel Alldredge, both of Gardnerville; daughters Donie Hernandez of Antigua, Guatemala C.A., Stephanie Moore of Meridian and Janet Hash of Carson City; brothers, Cecil of Carson City and Bill of Ocean View, Wash.; sisters Virginia "Ginger" Flood and Kelly "Babe" MacKellar, both of Huntsville, Ark., 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Cremation is under the direction of Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory in Carson City.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
