A graveside service for Rene Codis, 90, a Gardnerville resident for the past five years is at 10 a.m. Monday at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City with the Rev. Shep Curtis to officiate.
Mr. Codis died Aug. 22, 2001 at Carson Healthcare. He was born Dec. 6, 1910 in San Francisco to Henri J.P. Codis and Marie (Blanc) Codis. He was preceded in death by his wife Emolyn Codis in 1995 and brother Rene Codis in 1910.
He was a graduate of Galileo High School in San Francisco in 1928. Prior to living in Gardnerville he resided in Carson City.
Mr. Codis was a fireman for the San Francisco Fire Department from 1942-1965. He was also an insurance agent from 1953-1987.
Mr. Codis was a member of the French Athletic Club in San Francisco. He was also a member of the Civil Service Employees Insurance Company Agents Association in San Francisco and on the board of trustees for the company until 1980. He was an avid golfer.
He was of the Episcopalian faith.
Among his survivors are his daughter Roberta C. Ward of Gardnerville, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Interment will be after the service.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
