A funeral for Charlotte Rose Phalen, 87, a Carson City resident for the past 27 years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Friday at Walton's.
Mrs. Phalen died Aug. 25, 2001, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born June 6, 1914, in Luverne, Minn., to William and Ada Hammend Marshall.
She married Joseph Phalen Nov. 3, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She graduated from Luverne High School in 1931, Winona State Teacher College in 1933 and the University of Nevada, Reno in 1958 with a bachelor's of science degree in elementary education.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Hawthorne from 1953-74, coming from Jasper, Minn.
Mrs. Phalen was a teacher, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma Nu Chapter, RSVP Volunteer and Eastern Star, Hawthorne Chapter.
Among her survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law Delores and Don Pringle, of Carson City, Azalia and Roy Alexander of Towanda, Kan., and Cheryl and Danny Nelson of Elk Grove, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Walton's Carson Gardens.
