A funeral service for Carl H. Herriman, 82, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.
Mr. Herriman died Dec. 13, 2001 at the Mountain View Care Center in Carson City.
He was born March 20, 1919 in Grand Valley, Colo., to Vanzo L. and Etta White Herriman.
He has lived in Carson City since 1965 coming from Orange County, Calif.
Mr. Herriman was a building contractor and a lifetime member of the National Riflemen's Association and past member of the El Monte Rifle Range in Los Angeles.
He was also past president of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and had repaired the grandfather clock in the governor's office a number of times.
Mr. Herriman retired from the Nevada Department of Prisons where he worked as a maintenance supervisor.
He was a veteran having served with a rank of tech sergeant in the U.S. Army as a drill instructor during WWII.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Helyn, of Carson City; daughter Sheila Ann Thompson and son-in-law Phil, of Kings Beach, Calif. and daughter Tana Michele Rasmussen, of Boise, Idaho; and granddaughter Rachel Nicole Rasmussen.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Walton's. Burial will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
