Business Bank of Nevada has broken ground on its 5,000-square-foot branch in Carson City.

The permanent, bank-owned facility at 1811 East College Parkway will replace an existing 1,500-squarr-foot leased space at 3476 Executive Pointe Way, No. 10, one and a half blocks from where the new branch is being built.

Since entering the Carson City market in December 1999, Business Bank of Nevada has established a foothold. Catering primarily to small and medium companies, Business Bank has exceeded more than $25 million in total deposits during its first six months of operation.

According to Business Bank of Nevada President and CEO John Guedry, the early success of the bank is a direct result of strong partnerships Business Bank is developing with small businesses, community leaders and organizations throughout the area.

When completed in October of this year, the new facility will sit on approximately two-thirds of an acre and have a split-face block and stucco architectural design. The outside of the branch will have a walk-up ATM vestibule area, one drive-up teller window and a 24-hour night depository. The inside of the facility will have six teller windows, with one of the windows accessible to the handicapped. Additionally, there will be two new accounts desks in the platform area of the branch.

"For those clients who want to visit our new facility, it will be one of the most conveniently located bank buildings in the Carson City area," said Jerry Gregory, senior vice president and regional manager of Business Bank of Nevada. "Once the new freeway is completed, on and off ramps will only be a couple of blocks away from our front door. Convenience, easy access and great service will make going to the bank a positive experience for our clients."

Hannafin/Darney Architects designed the building, while Shaheen/Beauchamp Builders were chosen to build the new facility. The bank's investment in this building will exceed more than $1 million when it is completed later this year.

Business Bank of Nevada, with more $140 million in total assets, is in its fifth year of operation and has four branch offices in Nevada - three in Las Vegas and one in Carson City - with plans to open additional offices statewide in the near future. Business Bank is a member of the FDIC and Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and is listed over the counter at ticker symbol BBNV.
