Five people arrested in a series of raids into a suspected two-state methamphetamine trafficking ring have since made bail, while others wait behind bars for hearings.
In Carson City, Cathy Wurster, 41, Erica Crandell, 46, Brian Mitchell, 39, were released Thursday evening. Wurster is out on $25,000 bail, while Crandell and Mitchell were released on $2,500 bail.
Friday morning, Shahawali "Bill" Abdulwahabzada, 34, was released on $25,000 bail.
Still being held in the Carson City Jail are:
- Larry Powers, 54, on $20,000 bail
- Bruce Peart, 48, on $40,000 bail
- Robert Beattie, 33, on $60,000 bail
- Kimberly Rigdon, 43, on $40,000 bail
- Kyle Higday, 24, on $50,000 bail
- Marvin Higday, 43, on $75,000 bail
- Teddy J. Peterson, 49, on $20,000 bail
- Russell D. Robinson, 48, on $65,000 bail
- Christina Moriarty, age unknown, on $2,500 bail
After first appearances Friday morning in Justice of the Peace Robey Willis's courtroom, preliminary hearings for the defendants were set for Dec. 20 between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.
In Storey County, Robert R. Roberts, 46, is set for a Dec. 19 preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. Bail was set at $40,000 for suspicion of methamphetamine dealing after his arrest at 294 Prospector Road in Mark Twain.
J.D. Novak, 29, was also arrested during a raid of the home, but on an unrelated warrant. She was released without bail pending further court appearances.
In Douglas County, Rebecca Wilcox was still being held Friday in lieu of $10,000 bail on drug possession allegations. She was arrested during a raid on 1123 Azul Way. Gary P. Patellaro Jr., 29, was also arrested during the raid, and is being held in lieu of $60,505 bail on charges of drug manufacture, possession, trafficking and paraphernalia charges.
Kenneth Chandler, 50, Melvin Cowperthwaite, 48, David N. Adkins, 50, Joe Flood, 33, and Christopher Adkins, 18, were arrested in Montana in connection with the Tri-Net narcotics task force investigation.
No additional arrests have been made related to the investigation.
