One person was injured in a four-vehicle accident that backed up traffic on South Carson Street late Thursday afternoon.
The 4:15 p.m. chain-reaction accident blocked the left southbound lane between Stewart Street and Fairview Drive.
Nevada Highway Patrol troopers directed traffic into the remaining southbound lane as Carson City Fire Department rescue personnel removed one adult from the third vehicle, a silver Mercedes sport utility vehicle. The person was taken by ambulance to the Carson-Tahoe Hospital emergency room.
Information on the accident, such as possible cause or identities of anyone involved, was not available from the highway patrol at press time.
The vehicles involved - a black Toyota sedan in front, followed by the Mercedes, a red dual-cab pickup and a tan flatbed truck - all showed collision damage.
