WASHINGTON - Sen. Richard Bryan, D-Nev., and Rep. Jim Gibbons, R-Nev., are urging Congress to quickly consider legislation to provide a site for a new elementary school in Incline Village.
The legislation introduced by Gibbons would transfer U.S. Forest Service property to the Washoe school district for the school. A total of 8.7 acres of land will be transferred if the legislation is approved.
The new school would replace the elementary school built at Incline Village in 1964. It is too small and out of date.
Washoe County voters have already approved a school bond issue including $8 million for the new school.
