Letter: Thanks to vet who went extra mile

I want to take a minute to thank a very nice, dedicated man for his help recently.

I am a senior citizen with two large canine pets. Last week, during the heavy snowstorm, my 14-year-old Australian Shepherd, Bear, was in heavy pain. He won't get into a car as he knows he's going to the veterinarian, and to him that means "pain." I tried to get two animal agencies to come out, but was told they don't do that any more.

I called Lone Mountain Veterinary and asked them if anyone could help me out. Within 10 minutes, Dr. Margolin himself knocked at my door, wrapped his arms around Bear and told me he would take him in and check him out and I should call or come by the office later in the day.

I want everyone in Carson City and surrounding areas to know there is definitely a great, kind and caring veterinarian in our area. When you need him, he answers and is there. I will forever be indebted to this man.
