RENO - A man who robbed two women while wearing a cap with the word ''police'' written on it pleaded guilty Friday in Washoe District Court to two counts of robbery.

Keith Hoover, 32, faces sentencing Oct. 6 before Judge James Hardesty. He could receive up to 15 years in prison on each count.

Hoover was accused of pulling over the two women July 26 in an apparent traffic stop after they had been speeding.

Wearing the cap, he told the women to get out of the car and as they knelt on the pavement, he rifled the vehicle and took $400 in cash.

He was arrested two days later in Sparks following an altercation in which he was wearing the same hat.
