Barbara Diane Aldridge, 64, a Topaz Ranch Estates resident for the past 24 years, died July 20, 2000 at her home. She was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Inglewood, Calif., to Harold and Katherine Gelhardt Brown.
She attended school in Inglewood.
She married William Aldridge in Tijuana, Mexico Dec. 7, 1951.
Before moving to this area, she lived in Southern California and then Coleville, Calif., where she raised rabbits.
Mrs. Aldridge was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and cooking. She was a Roman Catholic.
Among her survivors are her husband Bill of Topaz Ranch Estates; daughter Kimberly Taylor of Crestwood, Ky.; son Jim of Topaz Ranch Estates; brothers Arthur Brown of Carlsbad, Calif., and Robert Brown of San Pedro, Calif.; sisters, Virginia Walpole of Olympia, Wash., Gert Stone of Hollywood, Calif., Dorothy Matthews of Yucaipa, Calif., Gerry Giles of Seattle, Wash., Ellie Monahan of Yerington, Mary Bernard of Millington, Tenn., Patricia Rusher of Alaska and Shirley Bechtel of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren Ryan and Katie Taylor of Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Mary's Hospice of Northern Nevada, 3264 Goni Road, Suite 151, Carson City 89706.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
