A memorial Mass for Leon Paul Supera, 75, a Reno resident for the past 30 years, will be at 2 p.m. today at Saint Teresa Catholic Church in Carson City.
Mr. Supera died July 13, 2000 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1924 in Carson City to Bernard and Marianna Aratsarena Supera.
Before moving to Reno, he lived in Perth, Scotland.
He graduated from Carson High School in 1943.
Mr. Supera was employed by Washoe Medical Center from 1979 until his retirement in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army for 23 years, retiring with the rank of Command Sergeant Major.
He served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and worked as Operation Sergeant in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Korea, Texas and the Netherlands.
Among his survivors are his wife Winifred, sons Paul and Leonard and daughter June Stretch, all of Reno; daughter Rita Steverman of Fort Collins, Colo.; sister Theresa of Sparks; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
