A memorial service for Shirley Dawson, 61, a Carson City resident for the past 15 years, will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Jehovah's Witnesses Silver Hills Kingdom Hall, 706 E. College Parkway.
Mrs. Dawson died July 25, 2000 at Washoe Medical Center. She was born Oct. 2, 1938, in West Virginia.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Georgia.
Mrs. Dawson was a waitress. She enjoyed helping others and was an at home caregiver for the elderly in the Carson City area for many years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and home improvements. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Silver Hills Kingdom Hall.
Among her survivors are her husband Willis, son Stacey and sisters Brenda Berle and Julie Quarino, all of Carson City; grandchildren Trevor Lee Dawson of Reno and Amy Neff of New York and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
