A graveside service for Vivienne Cowan, 84, a Carson City resident for the past 10 years, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Mrs. Cowan died Sept. 5, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Baraboo, Wis., to Lawrence and Margaret M. Clayton Thiers.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Santa Monica, Calif.
Mrs. Cowan was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and listening to music.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward June 6, 1995, in Carson City; brother W.J. Thiers in 1996 and sister Helene Urtheil Nov. 19, 1999.
Among her survivors are her sons Joel of Gardnerville, Steve of Carson City and Michael of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and daughter Elaine Cowan of Carson City.
