A private family ceremony will be held for William "Bill" O. Drange, 86, a Northern Nevada resident for the past 20 years.
Mr. Drange died Oct. 2, 2000, at Carson Healthcare in Carson City. He was born May 25, 1914, in Chicago to Tolef Drange and Signe Lie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sigrid Arnone.
Mr. Drange grew up in San Francisco and graduated from Lowell High School in 1931. He was an Eagle Scout and an avid sportsman. He played handball for the Olympic Club for many years and played baseball in the AAA league.
Prior to living in Northern Nevada he resided in Marin County, Calif.
Mr. Drange was an automobile dealer for most of his career. He was last employed at the Carson Nugget.
Mr. Drange was an active member of the American Merchant Marine Veterans Hi Sea Era Chapter.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Merchant Marine.
Among his survivors are his wife Carolyn Drange of Carson City; sons Dr. Stuart S. Drange of Gardnerville, Eric L. Drange of Cape Cod, Mass.; daughter Sandra D. Cooke of Minden; sister Borgny Haugan of San Rafael, and six grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City, is in charge of arrangements.
