October disability awareness month

October is national Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Nevada's Department of Employment, Training and rehabilitation is focusing attention on public education about programs and services for disabled job seekers.

Director Myla Florence said the department offers services year round to bring employers and job seekers together. She said disabled workers are "Nevada's largest untapped pool of willing workers."

She said 10 percent of those between 16 and 64 have an unemployment disability of one form or another.
