The picture taken at the Oct. 13 Murder at the Mansion depicting our Mayor Ray Masayko, about to take a sip of beer, was about as low as I've ever seen the Nevada Appeal go. The letter that you printed was also stupid and ill-formed.
Mayor Ray Masayko was not "flaunting" any drinking of beer in front of children. Mayor Masayko was taking a very short break at a private fund-raising event hosted by Carson Advocates for Cancer Care. The mayor was one of the actors in the Murder at the Mansion playing a stabbing victim. Nearly all of the people who attended the event were partakers of the beer, wine and champagne that were donated to the event. Where were their pictures?
Tom Tatro was asked if he would be willing to participate in the event to raise money for local cancer patients before Mayor Masayko was asked. Well, he doesn't do that sort of thing. I guess he doesn't do a lot of things.
As always, Mayor Masayko took time out from his busy schedule to help the needy in CC, in this case raising money to help local cancer patients.
The picture you published was a disgusting attempt to smear Mayor Masayko's reelection campaign. Fortunately, it had the opposite effect of what I'm sure you intended.
It only shows poor taste and how low the Appeal would go to further its own interests, using a nonprofit group's fund-raising event, benefiting local cancer patients, to further your own smear campaign. Talk about poor judgment.
