The most recent temblors struck Sunday morning, a 3.2 magnitude quake at 6:32 a.m. and a 3.1 magnitude quake at 6:58 a.m. Both were four miles northwest of Olancha, about 20 miles south of Lone Pine along Highway 395.
Three quakes Saturday were in roughly the same location. They hit between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. and ranged in magnitude 3.0 to 3.3, California Institute of Technology Seismologist Sue Hough said.
The quakes were part of a continuing swarm of earthquakes in a seismically active area, Hough said.
There were no reports of damage or injuries, said an Inyo County Sheriff's dispatcher in Independence.
