Three seminars to help seniors with applications to the SenioRx program are scheduled later this month in Reno, Las Vegas and Carson City.
The Carson City seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 28 in the Senior Center.
"We want to make sure each senior citizen in Nevada currently struggling with the cost of prescription medicine has every opportunity to sign up for SenioRx before the deadline for open enrollment," said Gov. Kenny Guinn.
Open enrollment for the program will close Dec. 31.
SenioRx is the state's program to try provide a form of prescription medicine insurance to seniors. It was approved by the Legislature in 1999 and will provide low income seniors across the state with up to $5,000 in prescription benefits each year.
A meeting is scheduled in the Washoe County Senior Center beginning at 1 p.m. Nov. 28. The Las Vegas seminar will be held a day earlier.
