Soroptimist International of Carson Valley is offering three award programs this year: Women's Opportunity Award, The Violet Richardson Award and the Soroptimist Youth Citizenship Award.
The Women's Opportunity Award is geared toward aiding head-of-household women seeking financial assistance to return to school in order to enter or re-enter the workforce or upgrade their employment status. For an application, call 782-7874. The deadline is Dec. 15.
The Violet Richardson Award honors young women aged 14-17 for volunteer action within their communities and schools. For applications or information, call 265-6244. The deadline is Dec. 1.
The Soroptimist Youth Citizenship Award honors outstanding contributions made by young people in their homes, schools, communities and the world. Any junior or senior is eligible. For applications call 265-6244. The deadline is Dec. 1.
