'Voices in Harmony' presented at Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday

"Voices in Harmony" will be presented by the Reno Silver Dollar Chorus at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts.

This Far Western district championship chorus, a male a cappella vocal singing group which has entertained the Reno Sparks and Carson communities for more than 25 years, will be joined by Rebecca Judd, Mike Alger, Miss Nevada 2000 Tiffanie Story, the Sparks High Madrigals, the Nevada Opera Youth Chorus, the McQueen High Jazz Chorus and others.

Special Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singing in America Inc. "Awards of Harmony" will be presented to distinguished members of the local community during the performance.

The society is a 62-year-old, all-male singing organization with 810 chapters and more than 34,000 members.

The Silver Dollar Chorus consists of men from 16 to 65 and meets every Thursday at the Hyatt Classic Residency on the corner of Plumas Drive and Moana Lane in Reno. The rehearsal is open to the public.
