A Carson City couple is in custody following a report Sunday of a domestic dispute in a North Carson Street motel room.

Sheila Marleen Ball, 36, is accused of going after Christopher E. Anderson, 38, with a knife while the couple were arguing, reports indicate.

When deputies arrived at the motel in the 1400 block of North Carson Street, Anderson reported that Ball took a swing at him with a knife, which he blocked with his forearm. He said he was then able to wrestle the knife from her.

Ball was booked on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and held on $20,000 bail.

Anderson was charged with suspicion of domestic battery for allegedly instigating the brawl by pushing Ball. His bail was set at $3,000.

Ball and Anderson were also charged with misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession after deputies reportedly found a suspicious pipe with traces of an unknown substance. According to the arrested reports no own would admit ownership of the pipe.
