Carson-Tahoe Hospital is observing breast cancer awareness month with two women's wellness fairs, "Health, Wealth and Beauty: An Affair For Women," Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Carson City Mall and Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the Minden Medical Center from noon to 7 p.m.
The fairs will feature osteoporosis screening, breast self-examination education, massages, aromatherapy, fitness and nutrition booths, makeovers, breast cancer education handouts, refreshments and entertainment.
During the month of October, as well as at the fairs, Tahoe Carson Radiology and Carson Imaging will provide 50 free mammograms to women who meet the following criteria: must be over 40 years old, haven't received a previous mammogram and aren't experiencing any symptoms of breast cancer.
