GOP presidential front runner Gov. George W. Bush will come to Nevada next month.
No plans are set for any public events. Bush will attend a fund-raising event at Lake Tahoe June 1.
Gov. Kenny Guinn's press secretary Jack Finn said the governor is "technically hosting" the event at Lake Tahoe.
Larry Ruvo, the owner of Southern Wine and Spirits and a major political contributor in the state, will sponsor Bush's visit.
Republican Party officials have been trying to get Bush to visit Nevada to help boost efforts for statewide candidates as well.
But Carson City GOP chairman Joe Dilonardo said Thursday they haven't been able to get him to commit to a public visit yet. Dilonardo said, however, Bush's father, former President George Bush, or other members of the Bush family may visit the Silver State before the end of the campaign.
However, Bush spokesman Scott McClellan in Texas said he was unable to guarantee the visit.
"The governor is looking forward to coming to Nevada in the near future but we're still finalizing plans," McClellan said.
Finn too said something could cancel the visit at the last minute, but barring problems, Bush has confirmed he will be at Tahoe June 1.
His father visited Lake Tahoe on several occasions, staying in Incline Village with casino mogul Steve Wynn.
