According to a recent press release by the Nevada Division of Wildlife, the canvasback duck has been chosen as the designated subject for the 2000 Nevada State Duck Stamp Art Contest.
That annual contest is sponsored by the Nevada Waterfowl Association.
It is sanctioned by NDOW and is open to all artists, regardless of residency.
Contest entries will accepted through March 17.
The winning artwork will be selected by a panel of five judges in early April and will be depicted in full color on the Nevada 2000 duck stamp.
That $5 stamp, which is required of all hunters who hunt waterfowl in Nevada, will be issued in late September.
Complete contest rules and required contest entry certificate are available from NDOW at 1100 Valley Road in Reno.
