A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday for investigation of felony attempted kidnapping and misdemeanor domestic violence after his wife said he had choked and threatened to kill her.
David George Cloward was arrested in the 1000 block of North Saliman Road at 9:20 p.m. and held on $100,000 bail.
His wife reported at 9:05 p.m. that Cloward had twisted her arm as they were in the process of moving. When he released her, she attempted to drive away, but Cloward got behind her in the car choked her while demanding she drive them to an abandoned mine site and threatened to kill her, the woman said.
She said she drove to the 1500 block of Rand Avenue, where she escaped and called for help. Deputies located Cloward in the 1000 block of North Saliman Road, where he had barricaded himself in an apartment, the arrest report said.
