Carson High School students, with the help of Carson Middle School, raised $17,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
High School director of student activities Cheryl Stoddard said Carson has retained its title as the school which raises the most money for the charity.
"Every high school in Nevada raises money for the Make-A-Wish foundation," she said. "They've done it annually for the last six or seven years.
"When our student council bought into this, they decided to raise more money than any other high school and they have," she said.
Nearly a third of the money raised is coming from the middle schoolers who held a penny war to raise the money.
"We would not have been able to raise this amount of money without the help of Carson Middle School and other elementary schools," she said.
Carson High School is the only one that has won the trophy since Nevada Association of Student Councils selected the Make-A-Wish foundation as the charity of choice.
In the six years since Carson began raising the money, students have raised $65,000.
