BLUE DEVILS 22, BEARS 6
An aggressive defense and ball control offense helped the Dayton Valley Blue Devils junior pee wees defeat the Lassen Bears Saturday on the Dayton Intermediate School field.
The defensive front of guard Zach Rispin and ends Justin Scott and Curtis Willhelm combined with linebackers Josh Avery and Joey Larson and cornerback David Grose to lead a defensive charge that produced one safety and held the Bears from Susanville, Calif., to one touchdown.
On the offensive side, Dayton's running game accounted for all three touchdowns behind an offensive line that opened holes for tailback Erik Hopper, fullback Zach Bets and wingback Brandon Aguilera.
The Blue Devils, now 4-2 on the season, are at home this coming Saturday against Quincy, Calif.
