FALLON - Assemblywoman Marcia de Braga, D-Fallon, is recovering from a broken leg she suffered after falling off a horse two days after Christmas.

De Braga was on a horse taking pictures of grandchildren when the horse reared up and tossed the four-term legislator. The break in her right leg just below the knee required screws and plates to reassemble, she told the Lahontan Valley News.

De Braga is taking care of her off-session legislative duties by phone until she is mobile again.

She is chairwoman of the Assembly Natural Resources, Agriculture and Mining Committee and she serves on the Education and Government Affairs committees.
