Eagles' Dare, a select girls' under-13 soccer team that is headed toward a tournament trip to England and Ireland next summer, will play host to the Mammoth Lake All-Stars in a doubleheader today at Seeliger Field in Carson City.

The two teams play their first game at 10:30 a.m. and will come back to play again at 1:30 p.m.

The Eagles' Dare roster numbers 16 players living in Carson City, Jacks Valley and South Lake Tahoe who have come together to play soccer through the 2000 spring season, followed by a two-week tour in July.

One week will be spent in Ireland, where the team will participate in soccer camps and the IFA Women's International Challenge tournament. Next on the itinerary will be a stop in England, where Eagles' Dare will be hosted by the Bournemouth F.C. girls soccer team and will play in yet another tournament.

In addition to playing, the team will be busy holding various fund-raisers to cover the costs of the summer trip. The team held its kickoff Christmas dinner at B'sghetti's in Carson City.
