Eagles' Dare splits doubleheader

Kasey Cano and Kaitie Green scored two goals each as the Eagles' Dare girls under-13 soccer team defeated the South Lake Tahoe Shooting Stars 8-0 in the second half of a youth girls soccer doubleheader Saturday in Carson City.


Kimberly Burton distributed five assists from her right wing position to help Eagles' Dare beat the under-14 age group Shooting Stars at Seeliger Elementary School.


Carson Valley High Energy girls under-14 team defeated Eagles' Dare 3-0 in the first game.


One highlight for Eagles' Dare came when players received game jerseys - all autographed by U.S. national team member Brandi Chastain - presented by Chastain's grandparents, Roger and Hazel Chastain of Carson City.


Eagles Dare, comprised of players from Carson City, Carson Valley and South Lake Tahoe, is preparing for a spring season that will be capped off by a trip to Ireland and England in July.
