Fernley High School shot its best round of the year on its home course and finished in fourth place after the second and final day of the NIAA/U.S. Bank 3A State Girls' Golf Championship at Desert Lakes on Friday afternoon.
The Vaqueros shot 490 as a team, which put their two-day total at 1,009. Truckee finished first in the team race with a 955, followed by Boulder City at 968 and Pahrump Valley at 991.
"I am very proud of the way we competed," Fernley coach Dave Burns said. "The golf course was in great shape too."
Erika Eilrich had the best individual finish for Fernley, placing 10th with a two-day total of 185. Danna Janderbuer was right behind her with a 188.
North Tahoe's Tiana Jones was the overall individual winner after shooting an 81 to finish with a two-day total of 168. Truckee's Renee Trudeau finished one stroke off the lead at 169, followed by teammate Megan Harter at 177.
Amber Thomas finished 17th for Fernley at 201, while Ashley Reeder was 36th at 218. Michelle Kirk rounded out the top five at 104.
Incline's Keri Oberly was eighth overall with a 182.
