SCHURZ - Four people were killed in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 95 Alternate nine miles north of here over the weekend.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Winchester said the victims - two adults and two children - were from the Fallon area but their names were being withheld.

He said two 19-year-old men were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and one was not expected to survive after being taken off life support Sunday.

''No accident is any good, but this is tragic,'' Winchester said.

The six people were in a southbound car that crossed into the oncoming lane, left the roadway and rolled more than once Saturday night, troopers said. Schurz is located 100 miles southwest of Reno.

The cause of the 7:20 p.m. accident remains under investigation.

''At this point, the reason is unknown why the car crossed into the northbound lane and left the roadway,'' Winchester said.

The victims were a 21-year-old man, 24-year-old woman, 5-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl.

The only occupant expected to survive the crash is a 19-year-old man who suffered broken bones.
