PHOENIX, Ariz. - The University of Nevada baseball team pounded out 25 hits en route to a 29-1 win over Northern Iowa on Saturday in the final game of the Oakland A's tournament.
Senior Joe Inglett drove in seven runs, including a home run, and junior Josh Laidlaw connected for a pair of bombs while driving in seven runs.
Nevada got a strong showing on the hill from freshman Darrell Rasner. The Carson City High School product pitched five innings giving up two hits and Northern Iowa's only run. Rasner, who struck out five, is now 4-0 on the season.
Senior Don Price drove in three runs and hit two homers. Fellow senior Ryan Church also went deep two times and provided five RBI of his own.
Junior Garrett D'Antoni came in relief of Rasner and gave up two hits in one inning of work. Lawrence Whitley, Gary Hayes and Bryan Schultz each worked an inning, allowing no Panther hits.
The Wolf Pack moved to 8-5 overallm and Northern Iowa dropped to 1-2 on the season. Nevada will travel to Las Vegas next week to play four games beginning Thursday.
