A Carson City man in district court Nov. 2 admitted his involvement in the July 27 shooting of two Carson City teenagers.

Michael Johnson, 19, pleaded no contest to charges that he shot an 18 year old and a 16 year old youth during an alleged gang dispute near a fast-food restaurant on South Carson Street.

Davalos and Montanez suffered only minor injuries after Johnson and three men reportedly engaged them after exchanging gang signs. It was during the brawl that Johnson allegedly fired the shots.

In exchange for his guilty plea to two charges of battery with the use of a deadly weapon, prosecutors dropped attempted murder charges and vowed to seek no more than eight years on each battery charge.

Judge Michael Fondi will sentence Johnson on Dec. 7 in district court.
