"Elements and Legalities of Human Resources Management: Employee Relations," a human resource management course, will be offered Thursdayby the University of Nevada, Reno.
This course will provide students with an overview of all components of employee relations and the importance of this area to the overall success of an organization. The course will teach key elements of constructive performance evaluations, effective complaint management, competent handling of employee problem behavior, useful communication techniques and the emerging issues of a diverse work place.
Students will gain insight into employers' obligations and the effect of the law on the development of personal policies and practices within the organization.
The course will be offered from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday at the university's Midby-Byron Center Room 110. The course fee is $140. Instructor is Richard Newman, organizational development consultant.
