Prisoners of war and soldiers missing in action are honored with a flag flying in front of Carson City Hall.

The black POW-MIA flag has been flying for about two months following a suggestion by a Vietnam veteran, said Mayor Ray Masayko.

"The flag causes us to pause and remember that there are some servicemen who are still missing in action," he said. "That's our commitment to them."

The flag is lit and flies 24 hours a day.
