A free, two-hour trek on snowshoes is being offered at Sugar Pine Point State Park on Saturday. It will be conducted by park rangers with the California State Park System.

The trek will begin at the park which is located 10 miles south of Tahoe City, Calif. It is on S.R. 89 on the west side of Lake Tahoe.

The trek is for novice snowshoers. You must bring your own snowshoes and you should know how to put them on.

The degree of difficulty is rated as "easy." It is over level terrain. One mile out and one mile back.

Anyone interested in the clinic is requested to meet at the Sugar Pine Point ski trail parking lot near the campground kiosk at 10 a.m.

Bring your own snowshoes, ski poles to assist with balance, and snow boots. You should also bring snacks, drinks and wear layered clothing for variable weather conditions.
