Funeral services for Edna M. MacDiarmid, 94, a Dayton resident for 44 years, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Mountains Catholic Church in Virginia City.
Mrs. MacDiarmid died Jan. 22, 2000 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Aug. 13, 1905, in Canada to Charles and Em Boucher.
A long-time postmistress for Dayton, Mrs. MacDiarmid's father was a prominent member of the Canadian Parliament from the province of Saskatchewan.
She was socially active among the ladies of Dayton. She put up children from area ranches so they could attend school in town.
Mrs. MacDiarmid is survived by her son, Thomas C. Richardson of Dayton.
Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
