Gerald Shank, 80, a Carson City resident for the past 15 years, died Oct. 4, 1999, at Nevada Cares. He was born Jan. 23, 1919, in New York to Charles and Mary Kathryn Flannigan Shank.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in California.
Mr. Shank was a communications supervisor for the U.S. Civil Service Commission. He was a ham operator and loved electronics and fishing in the Sierras.
He served in the U.S. Army for eight years as a communications specialist.
Among his survivors are his special friend, Liz Supera, of Carson City; daughters, Sharon Wyckoff, of Vancouver, Wash., and Christine Russey, of Camas, Wash.; brother, Ray Shank, of New York and three grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 13, in Vancouver.
Cremation was at FitzHenry's Crematory.
