A funeral for Hugh C. Ingle Jr., 76, a Yerington resident for the past 19 years, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Community United Methodist Church in Smith Valley.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington.
Mr. Ingle died Oct. 16, 1999, at his residence in Yerington. He was born Aug. 17, 1923, in Santa Rosa, Calif., to Hugh Cochrane Sr. and Edith Young Ingle.
Before moving to Yerington, he lived in Middletown, Calif.
He graduated from Analy High School in Sebastopol, Calif., Santa Rosa Junior College and Mackay School of Mines, Reno.
Mr. Ingle was a mining engineer and worked in the industry for 66 years. He was a fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korea and remained in the Naval Reserve for more than 40 years, retiring as a Navy Captain.
Among his survivors are his wife of 53 years, Janet, of Yerington; daughters, June Corbit, of Minden and Joyce Lynn Hakin, of Yerington; son, Hugh, of Yerington, Dick, of Polson, of Montana; and 10 grandchildren.
