A memorial service for John Bertoglio, 84, a Carson City resident for the past five years, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Bertoglio died Dec. 4, 1999, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Nov. 7, 1915, in Heiner, Utah, to Domonick and Caroline Taracioni Bertoglio.
Before moving to Carson City, he had lived in Nevada City, Calif., for more than 20 years.
Mr. Bertoglio was a warehouseman. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge, a founding member of the Italian-American Club in Grass Valley, Calif., past president of the Merry Makers Club in Grass Valley and a member of Teamsters Union Local 315.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, carpentry, dancing and music, playing the guitar and harmonica and singing. He loved Western movies. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed people.
Among his survivors are his wife, Rose, of Carson City; daughters, Carol Christiansen and husband, Lane, of Carson City and Kathy D'Agosta and husband, Tony, of Hidden Valley, Calif.; sister, Rose Richards, of Helper, Utah and grandson, Matthew Christiansen.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
