Obituary: Joseph Bernard Williams

Joseph Bernard Williams, 91, a Gardnerville resident for the past 20 years, died Dec. 25, 1999, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born May 16, 1908, in Rochester, N.Y., to William Mead and Katherine Johnson Williams.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Chatsworth, Calif.

Mr. Williams was involved in the Skunk Works Project, which was the beginning of the Stealth Bomber project. He was very active politically, was an animal activist and he enjoyed traveling. He loved his Siamese cat Catherine Suzanne Williams. He was a Roman Catholic.

He was preceded in death by son, Joey, in 1962, in California, two brothers and two sisters.

Among his survivors are his wife, Myrna M. and daughter, Diane E. Peel, both of Gardnerville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at a later date.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
