A celebration of life for Katherine Elizabeth Benitez, 60, a Silver Springs resident for the past year, will be at 2 p.m. May 28 at the Chestnut Inn in Silver Springs.
Mrs. Benitez died May 14, 2000, in a motorcycle accident on Highway 50 East.
She was born Jan. 27, 1939, in New York to Loreston and Kay Pierce LaGrange.
Before moving to Silver Springs, she lived in Santa Rosa, Calif.
Mrs. Benitez was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fremont Travelers Motorcycle Club.
Among her survivors are her mother, Kay Pierce; husband, Joseph and sons, Joe and Randy, all of Silver Springs; daughters, Sherry Wildoner of San Francisco, Terry Souza of Fremont, Calif., Darlene Pera of Livermore, Calif. and Terry Sue Benitez of Livermore, Calif.; brothers, Bernie LaGrange of Silver Springs, Phil LaGrange of Tracy, Calif. , Richard LaGrange of Texas and Charles LaGrange of Arkansas; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
