A memorial service for Lavina O. Byrnes, 79, a Carson City resident for the past seven years, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Byrnes died June 19, 2000, at Carson Health Care. She was born May 18, 1921, in Portugal to Manuel L. and Ludevina Costa Luis. She was raised in Ferndale, Calif.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in California.
Mrs. Byrnes was a prototype assembler for Intel Computers. She enjoyed oil and water painting, reading and traveling.
Among her survivors are her son Theodore of Carson City; sons Frank L. Nunes of Los Angeles, Ken A. Nunes of San Diego, Calif., Gerald L. Nunes of Davis, Calif. and Rich A. Nunes of San Diego; daughters Kathleen Jones and Cynthia Milliman, both of Mountain View, Calif.; brothers Joseph Luis of Ferndale, Calif., and Frank Luis and Manuel Luis and sisters Marie Rocan, Elsie Godinho and Adlina Ramors, all of Eureka; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be a Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
